Daydreaming and Success…

During the weekend, I was having a conversation with my siblings. I was telling them how an ideal day in my life would look like, with all the luxury and comfort I intended to get for myself. You can call it daydreaming because that is what exactly it is.

After a while, my younger sister interrupted me and asked a question, a question that got me thinking the rest of the day…hold on…I need to drink water before I tell you 🚰.

Okay, so she asked and I quote “if everyone plans to be rich in the future, who would be their cook, driver, security guard, etc?”. If I am allowed to paraphrase, She was asking who would work for the rich if everyone intends to be rich in the future.

I thought about it for the rest of the day and here are my conclusions:

  1. Not everyone actually plans to be rich or successful: There are people who are ok with an average or mediocre life, some believe that being successful is a sin and thus remain poor or indifferent. This set of people would likely be the workers of the rich ones.
  2. Not everyone actually works towards being rich: So while there are those who aren't interested, there are others who want it but don't make any move or effort to get it. For instance, Mr. A wants to retire at 40 so he can travel around the world with his wife but he doesn't have any goals or plans on how that can become a reality, not even a stable income to back that plan up…it is sad because he will still probably be working at age 50 for someone who is probably even younger than him.
  3. Those who actually intend to be successful have a plan and they work towards it: One of my dreams for 2020 was to make my first million, I just said it and told people around me but didn't even have any plan for a steady source of income this year. I wanted it, dreamed it but didn't have it. Why? because it was just me talking and while words are important, words without action are a waste of saliva and energy(sometimes tho).

Just in case you still haven't gotten the whole point of this write-up. I am saying you should start taking action towards achieving your dream. Success is actually achievable to those who say, plan, and work towards them.

Take tangible actions today and see yourself walk closer to your dream 😉

Here is this really interesting speech I found on Blessing Abeng’s website, take out time to watch if you can:

Till I come your way again, Adios!
